Author Brant    Category All, Simulator Updates     Tags

The simulator for Celebrity Big Brother 2 US has been released on the day of its finale. This simulator contains the audience decisions from the season and a voting chart. It is is intended to be a complete release, and saving will be added by the weekend as long as no major bugs are found.

You can use the simulator here.

Any feedback would be appreciated. This was a quick development, so bugs are possible. Thanks to @TheeEric on Twitter for testing this season on short notice and reporting numerous bugs, relating to this simulator and others.

Update: A Twist Options menu has been added to the week page, so you can choose to set up the season based on your interpretation of these twists.

Update 2: Saving has been added.

Can you make the winner of the Safety Competition in the double eviction, yellow on the voting chart?

    • Edwyth [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 1:55 pm

I just ran into where the Fake houseguest was the auto nom from the first HoH competition, the HoH didn’t have to name a replacement. I assume that if Ryan’s HoH partner was Anthony and he had left like he had, he would have still been replaced after Anthony left.

      • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 1:58 pm

The way the logic works is that if the houseguest auto-nominated is removed from the block, there isn’t a replacement. This was based on some previous Big Brother seasons, but I’m not 100% sure how the format was supposed to work here.

I can make the safety competition winner yellow on the chart, good idea!

        • Edwyth [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 2:08 pm

When Anthony left, Ryan asked production if he didn’t have to name a replacement because there was already two people on the block, and he didn’t want to nominate half the house like BB19 Cody, but Big Brother insisted that during this week 1 eviction there needed to be three people on the block on eviction night for the first eviction.

But I understand, you did this BBOTT America’s nomination style, and the real reason they did that so that America’s nom could stay until the final 6, because if you had to replace the America’s nom with someone else (if vetoed), they would’ve had to stop it a lot sooner because that cast was so small to begin with.

All that being said since this is only a week 1 triple nom, i think they would keep it no matter what.

Also, when the person who won the Power of the Publicist was nommed, they weren’t yellow on the chart.

          Thanks for all you do!

I just ran into a situation where the Power of the Publicist used her power in the initial noms and then was later the veto renom in the same HoH reign. I think if the power was triggered they were safe for the entire HoH reign. It was more like Paul’s pendant of protection and less like Tyler’s the cloud in this respect.

            • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 2:22 pm

If the Power of the Publicist becomes immune for the entire HoH reign, then that player should be yellow on the chart. I didn’t realize the power might work like that either.

          • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 2:21 pm

I really appreciate that clarification about production saying they wanted three players on the block week one.

  • Landon [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 2:16 pm

In my simulation, the fake houseguest was chosen as one of the veto player’s after he left the game!

    • Landon [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 2:19 pm

also, Lolo won the safety competition, and was put up for eviction.

      • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 2:24 pm

Was this an initial nomination or replacement? Thanks.

        • Edwyth [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 2:34 pm

I just ran into this as well, the safety competition winner was the initial nom

          • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 2:43 pm

Thanks, just applied a fix for initial HoH’s nominations to make sure the safety winner was still safe.

    • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 3:20 pm

Week 1 veto selections for part 2 were repeating the initial veto selections if there were 3 nominees. This was a glitch and has been resolved.

  • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 3:22 pm

All reported bugs have been addressed. Please let me know if you see any more.

I’m considering two format changes, based on the insight from Edwyth:

Does anyone have more to add on the following questions?

    1. If the houseguest auto-nominated for eviction is removed from the block, should there be a replacement nominee? [Currently, no replacement. The proposed change is to add a replacement to guarantee three nominees.] Update: All scenarios should now result in a replacement, guaranteeing three nominees.

    2. If the Power of the Publicist is used during a nomination ceremony, can that houseguest still be nominated for eviction at the veto ceremony? [Currently, this houseguest is vulnerable at the veto ceremony. The proposed change is to make them immune and show them as yellow on the voting chart.]

  • bwburke94 [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 3:34 pm

    My answers to the questions:

    1. Yes, there should be a replacement nominee.
    2. No. The Power of the Publicist grants immunity from nomination.

  • Jonathan [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 4:15 pm

Jonathan won the publicist and prevented himself brom being nominated in week 2 part 2. But then was named the replacement nominee after the veto which I believe was not supposed to happen according to the rules of the twist.

    • Brant [Admin] February 13, 2019 at 4:33 pm

That’s exactly what I’m wondering and considering changing. Thank you for your thoughts!

  • Jonathan [Guest] February 13, 2019 at 4:28 pm

Also, the veto is pretty much always used. No matter what, even when the HoH wins the veto.

  • Edwyth [Guest] February 14, 2019 at 3:28 am

I ran into a situation where in week one the HoH vetoed a nominee, then replaced it with the fake houseguest, then the fake houseguest left, and then HoH replaced the fake houseguest with the nominee they just had vetoed, I think for Week 1, both the PoV winner and the PoV receiver would be immune for the entirety of that HoH reign

    • Brant [Admin] February 14, 2019 at 5:16 pm

I’m trying to find this flaw in the code and have been unsuccessful so far.

Was the vetoed nominee re-nominated immediately after the fake houseguest left or later in the round during the veto ceremony?

      • Brant [Admin] February 14, 2019 at 5:34 pm

The error was present in both scenarios. I found and fixed it. Thank you for reporting this.

  • Yoshi [Guest] February 14, 2019 at 4:28 am

The Power of the Publicist should definitely be safe for the entire week (if used), in my opinion. It doesn’t really make sense that a houseguest used it but was evicted anyway.

    But cool simulator!

    • Yoshi [Guest] February 14, 2019 at 4:41 am

*especially since the POV is almost always used, so it makes the twist pointless if they’re not immune.

      • Brant [Admin] February 14, 2019 at 5:35 pm

There are others who have this same interpretation of the twist.

I’d be fine changing it, but I’m trying to find definite information that this was the intended functionality of the power.

        • Edwyth [Guest] February 14, 2019 at 9:04 pm

My argument that it should be this way unlike Tyler’s power is he had the choice to use it, where as Tamar’s power was just automatically triggered, and if Tamar had the power of choice she would of course prefer to use it at the veto ceremony to risk being backdoored, but since she wasn’t given the choice I have to think that person would be immune for the entire HoH reign

  • coolKat [Guest] February 15, 2019 at 3:31 am

Not sure if this is for every simulation but it happened it The Ones I’ve done before but like the eviction tab in the week will have thw right vote like 5-2 or something like that

But the weekly summary chart will always have one extra number for all weeks besides the first week which has the correct number.

    For example if:

In Week 2 Part 1 there is 7 voters and Dina leaves in 5-2 vote it will show 6-2 in weekly summary

I’m not sure if the extra number shows up if an hoh votes or not because I’m guessing the hoh vote is always being added to the person who left regardless of the hoh voted ir not

    • Brant [Admin] February 15, 2019 at 5:05 pm

This was actually an error impacting every BrantSteele.com Big Brother season. Thank you for noticing. It’s been fixed now.

      Finalizing the season soon…

      • Brant [Admin] February 15, 2019 at 5:22 pm

For the twists, I’m going to be adding a Twist Options menu so you can choose how they work. This’ll be easier for me than making a change, only to have to change it back later. The only debate will be which options to use as default.
